Current Breads to Order
Details, Prices and Ingredients
Prices are for 350g/500g respectively apart from the fruit bread (500g only)
Sourdoughs (£3.50/£4.50):
Polish Sourdough. Made up from a Rye based sourdough starter, bread is 80% white flour, 20% rye and flavoured with caraway seeds
French Levain Style Sourdough: Made up from a white bread flour sourdough starter, bread is 70% white flour, 15% wholemeal and 15% rye
Made with Baker's Yeast:
Wholemeal Bread (£2.50/£3.50). Made up with 60% wholemeal flour and 40% white bread flour
Scandinavian Rye Bread (2.75/£3.75). 75% white bread flour, 25% Rye, with raisins and caraway seeds
Both of these can be either as a single conventional loaf or as a batch of 5 bread rolls.
Enriched:
Finnish 'Island' bread (£7.00). This is close in both texture and flavour to a pure Rye bread but is a bit lighter. Contains Rye, Wholewheat and Barley flours, maple syrup, yoghurt, milk and poppy seeds. Its great as the basis for open sandwiches (again especially cured meats, smoked fish and strong cheeses) but I also use it as a normal breakfast bread. Its also a good bread if you are going out for a long walk as it has a lot of energy and the dense flours means this is released slowly (shown above).
Specials:
Danish Wholewheat (£3.00/£4.00) - 50/50 Wholewheat/White flours, prunes and cadomoms (gives a moist, slightly spicy bread)
Italian Olive Bread (£4.00/£5.00). Made up from a white bread flour sourdough starter, 95% white/5% Wholewheat bread flour, black olives and some olive oil.
Lovage and Honey Sourdough (£4.00/£5.00) White flour sourdough starter, 50/50 white and wholewheat flour, lovage and honey

Special Orders
Further breads are available on the 'Specialist Breads' page. I can't always guarentee to have the ingredients as items cease to be available at times so best to ask before placing an order for anything from that page.
